Wellness Program

Teton Valley Hospital & Surgicenter's Community Outreach Programs provide education and support to maintain health and strengthen families. These programs are designed to reach all factions of our community and enhance health from prenatal through senior care.

Pre-registration and a minimal fee are required for most education and outreach programs. For more information or to register, contact the Community Outreach office at 354-2383 ext 181.

 

Reaching Out to Encourage Health & Well Being

 

 

Health & Wellness Education

Prenatal & Childbirth Classes educate parents on healthy pregnancy and birthing techniques. A refresher course is also available. Quarterly sessions are held Wednesday evenings from 7-9:30pm . in January, April, July and October with Instructors Kristen Coburn, R.N., Nikki Ripplinger, R.N. and Susan Allen, R.N.

Hallie Harrison Community Health Resource Lending Library offers books, video and audio tapes available on loan to the public in English and Spanish.

AARP 55 Alive Mature Driving two day course for motorists age 50 and over. Successful completion of this driver improvement course saves participants up to 10% on car insurance. AARP Instructor Betty DeLaurentis.

Diabetic Self Management Education assists diabetics and families in blood sugar control and healthy lifestyles. Individual counseling available upon request. Coordinator Lisa Grutzmacher, R.N.

Parenting With Love & Logic helps parents teach children responsibility, how to make choices and set limits, while providing logical consequences. Offered Spring and Fall by Instructor Joleen Pearson. CEU's offered for teachers.

Tobacco Cessation provides the tools to successfully quit tobacco through an informal group setting. Funded by District VII Health Department, the classes are offered at no charge each Spring and Fall by Instructor Lisa Grutzmacher, R.N. Individual counseling available upon request.

American Red Cross Babysitting Course for youth ages 11-18. Learn skills for safe and responsible babysitting, infant and child CPR and basic First Aid. Offered Spring and Fall by American Red Cross Certified Instructor, Cheyenne Guynn.

Heartsaver CPR Courses available to the community for times four times throughout the year. Extra classes available upon request. Extra classes available upon request. Ken Schwab, Coordinator.
