Great comments and questions were shared at the Conversion Plan Community Forum last night.  Thank you to everyone who participated.  I think Teton Valley News did a great job of hosting the forum, too.  If you weren't able to attend last night and you have a question or two or three, please email us at info@tvhcare.org or call our CEO, Virgil Boss, at 354-2677.  A video of the Forum will be accessible at www.tetonvalleynews.net by Monday, November 7th.  Were you there?  Would you like to have more TVHC Forums?  Let us know.

Conversion Plan Updates

MainBlog
Mar 20, 2013 06:34 PM

As of October 24, we have a completed agreement with Bingham Memorial Hospital, Teton County Idaho Board of Commissioners and Teton Valley Health Care to move ahead with a phased conversion of TVHC to a private, nonprofit healthcare organization and formalized affiliation with BMH.  There are several components in motion at this time and while many details will continue to be negotiated, there are several clear steps that are being taken to complete the process.  First, TVHC will become a new legal entity to be known at TVHC, Inc.  This must happen in order to fulfill IRS requirements to apply for the 501c3 designation.  The application will be completed and submitted to the IRS by the end of January 2012. Ongoing negotiations to firm up the management agreement will continue among all three parties (TVHC, BMH, TC BOCC) with firm plans for completion by December 2010.  You may see the entire TVHC Conversion Agreement by following this link: TVHC Conversion Agreement.  The primary objective of the Conversion Plan is to offer a self-sustaining hospital for our community while retaining local management and assets.  Please share your comments and questions via this blog or by contacting Virgil Boss, CEO at vboss@tvhcare.org or 208.354.2677.

Brake for Breakfast Report

MainBlog
Oct 5, 2011 12:00 AM

We had a wet Brake for Breakfast this morning.  Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello and pick up a pink sling tote.  We did run out of bags even though we had 100 more than last year!  350 people drove away with a bag this morning and we'll have to order even more next October. If you need a mammo and just can't afford it right now, you are not alone. Please give us call at 354-6317 ext. 183 for information about subsidized or free exams. Let us help you get that basic mammo.

Hello North Fremont High School

MainBlog
Sep 12, 2011 12:00 AM

We're looking forward to our visit this Wednesday at North Fremont High School.  Dr. Mo Brown will be on hand to talk about orthopedics and how to prevent and treat sports injuries.  Our newest member of the Medical Staff team, Dr. Nathan Levanger, will talk about concussions: how to prevent and treat them, and how to detect a concussion.  We'll have some goodies to hand-out, too.  Everyone is invited to come on out: September 14th from 7pm - 8pm in the high school auditorium.

Do you know any teenage athletes who have been diagnosed with a concussion?  Do you think school coaches and parents receive the information they need to be aware of concussions?  We'd love to hear what you think.

Digital Mammo

MainBlog
Sep 8, 2011 12:00 AM

Over 60 friends and neighbors came to our Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Celebration for the new Medical Imaging Suites!  It was great to see so many people and we all enjoyed Sue Cicero's catering yummies.  Our new digital mammography unit is housed in a gorgeous suite.  Thank you to all of the local artists who have loaned their artwork to this suite:  Philbin deGot, Michele Farrier, Cynthia Stoetzer, Carole Flaherty and Ginny Northcott.  We were all treated to a presentation showing the capabilities of the new 16 slice CT Scanner, too. We're fortunate to have this type of technology in our community.  If you'd like to see the new suites, just give me a call for a tour:  Ann at 354-6301.  And the winner of the awesome cruiser bike was Cathy Mason.  Long may you ride, Cathy!
