For Immediate Release Driggs, ID - (11/20/2003) - Teton Valley Hospital & Surgicenter is pleased to announce the addition of STAR services to their community based hospital. STAR Services are Short-Term subAccute Rehabilitative Services. Teton Valley Hospital & Surgicenter is looking to attract patients and families back to the valley to allow for a continuum of care after the initial injury or illness that may have been treated initially at a facility outside the valley. Typically insurance does not allow for an extended rehabilitative stays at an acute care setting after the onset of an acute illness or injury. With STAR Services, Medicare covers 100% of the expense from days 1-20. Days 21 100 a copay applies and is covered by most secondary insurance policies. A qualifying three day acute care stay is required to be eligible for the extended stay at the facility. Patients and families can experience skilled nursing services with acute care expertise including physician supervision, RN case managers, pain management, PT/OT & SLP therapists on staff along with optimal nurse to patient ratios. Physicians can ensure patient dischargeability, improve injury or illness outcomes and ensure the continuity of care.
